On June 25, six members of the Silver Spring Justice Coalition wrote to County Executive Marc Elrich asking him not to sign the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) with the MCPD police union. The six groups are: ACLU of Maryland, Montgomery County Chapter; Defending Rights & Dissent; Montgomery County Civil Rights Coalition; Progressive Montgomery; Racial Justice NOW; and, Showing Up for Racial Justice – Montgomery County.
